Six countries are pre-qualified for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam: Host country The Netherlands and the Big 5 consisting of Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The Netherlands will perform 23rd in the Grand Final. The other pre-qualified finalists will draw the half they will perform in approximately a week before the show.

WHERE IS AZERBAYCAN?
@TheLife WithDoggo In 2019 the EBU authorized Kazakhstan to become an active member in order to participate to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Not to the other one.
@D M They already accept kazakhstan in 2019 but they didnt wanted to participate so they practically can if they want to
@Luke Fernandez I don't think that the EBU will accept any new country, because it could open the door for Turkey's return.
@WhatzupGeroemche Official I really have no idea. As probably, due to the pandemic situation, every participant will send a live-on-tape performance (just like most participants did at JESC last November) instead of having the possibility to travel to Rotterdam, the EBU could postpone the usual backups exceptionally to avoid a new cancellation after Armenia (but for other reasons, of course).

@Angelica Pantera Italia, Francia, Germania, Spagna e Gran Bretagna sono le "fondatrici" dell'Eurovision. A loro si aggiunge il paese ospitante, quest'anno i Paesi Bassi! Facile!
in pratica queste 5 nazioni (Germania, Regno Unito, Francia, Italia e Spagna) ogni anno passano direttamente alla finale, senza partecipare alle semi-finali, (non ho ancora capito il perchè di questo forse perchè sono superpotenze europee o forse perchè danno più soldi all'Eurovision in modo tale che si possa fare? Bho però è cosi da parecchio) insieme alla nazione dove si terrà l'Eurovision (quindi quest'anno I paesi bassi)

Really loving the Big 5 + host this year. Never expected them all to send strong entries.
Italy is a valid contestant, the Maneskin band has the right message, the right attitude, they come in a moment when the world is sensitive to these elements and they do rock music, what there is more to ask?

I am SO excited for this year's show after a year of Eurovision withdrawals. This year is so STRONG, so many amazing songs and skilled artists and it is a struggle to pick a favourite! Thank you EBU for working hard to give us a show that is fun, amazing and safe. I can't wait for late May... good luck to all participants, they are all winners for submitting smashing songs despite covid restrictions and limitations!
